Last night, I sat in on a panel debate about AI’s collision course with healthcare, put on by the BioHive Healthtech Hub. Big brains on stage. Smart ideas flying. There was a lot of talk about how AI is helping doctors, health insurers, and hospital systems and how it might just wreck them too.
But here’s what clicked for me:
Doctors are trying to figure out how AI can help them do their job, just like a top Account Executive is exploring how AI can help them sell better. Different industries. Same story.
AI is a tool. Not a replacement.
You can’t use AI to look a patient in the eye and gently deliver a diagnosis.
You also can’t use AI to read a room during a sales pitch, crack a joke, and close a deal with a handshake.
