Not All Salespeople Are Scammers
Most people aren’t trying to scam you, they’re just trying to make a living.

The other day, a guy came to my house to sell me solar panels.
I know. This could be a smart financial move… or a total disaster.
But this guy? He was good. Not pushy. Just helpful.
There’s no “but” here, he was solid.
I even did some digging on him and his company. Turns out, he’s a self-employed hustler. Out there knocking doors, trying to help people and earn an honest living.
I respect that. I’ve been that guy. Maybe you have too.
At First, My Guard Was Up
I’ll be honest: I didn’t want to like him. Too many bad experiences with pest control bros and high-pressure closers.
I went into the meeting with arms crossed (figuratively and literally).
But when I slowed down, listened, and got curious, something clicked.
He wasn’t there to trick me, he was solving a problem. I spend a lot on electricity. He showed me how to spend less. He earns a commission. I save money. Win-win.
A Reminder We All Need
There are a lot of bad salespeople out there.
But there are even more good ones who are just trying to provide for their families.
When someone comes to you with a pitch, it’s okay to listen, especially if they seem genuine and sharp.
Don’t let your past negative experiences block new opportunities.
Sure, if someone’s pushy, walk away. But if they’re solving a real problem and showing up with respect?
Give ‘em a shot.
Most people aren’t trying to scam you.
They’re trying to make life work, same as you and me.
